What does The Path to Ivy Group do?

The Path to Ivy Group (PTI) is a college consulting service that is committed to assisting students in the college preparation and admissions process to gain admission to Ivy League and other top colleges that best fit their academic, personal, and social needs.  PTI helps students from all over the world in person or via web video, phone, or email on college planning and strategy.

The first question most parents and students ask of a university is whether or not they have a minimum GPA or SAT score requirement, and many are dismayed when they get the vague answer, “We judge every student holistically.”  This is where PTI can help.  We understand that gaining admission to a top university and dream school is far from being just about the numbers.  Every year, thousands of valedictorians and 2400 SAT scores are denied admission.  While the numbers are undeniably important, they make up just a portion, and probably the simplest portion, of the entire package that is the college application.   PTI will help students to showcase the part of them that is not, and cannot, be captured in a couple numbers.  We work with students one-on-one to ensure that their final submitted application best demonstrates their strengths and uniqueness in a way that will catch the eye of any admissions officer.

What kinds of services do you offer?

PTI has programs to help students in all stages of the college application process.  For juniors and seniors, we will help to craft highly competitive college applications that will allow them to get admitted to their dream school.  A successful application involves all of the following components:

• Selecting “fit” colleges

• Early application vs. regular application strategy

• High GPA and standardized test scores

• Strong letters of recommendation

• Logically filled out application form to reveal the applicant’s strengths

• Essays that demonstrate applicant’s strengths and uniqueness

• Successful interview

While we understand that every student is on a different timeline, ideally, we find the greatest value is added when we begin working with students from a younger age, either at the beginning of high school or even as early as middle school.  Through developing a long-term relationship with students and their families, PTI counselors are able to develop a much better understanding of the students' strengths/weaknesses, ambitions, goals, etc.  We will work with them to plan a path that will maximize their potential, and when the time comes, we will help them craft the perfect college application that will ultimately lead them to the school and future of their dreams.
